Shannon K spills the beans on her ‘Indian-Vendi’ character

MUMBAI, June 24 (IANS) Singer and actress Shannon K. , who will soon appear in the upcoming movie ‘Hindi-Vindi’, said she will be writing an essay on an Australian-Indian Muslim woman in the film.
The actress will share the big screen with Neena Gupta and Mihir Ahuja, who will also appear in Zoya Akhtar’s film Archies.
Shannon, daughter of legendary playback singer Kumar Sanu, said, “I am happy to be with an actress as experienced as Neena Gupta. We look forward to learning more.”
She further stated: “Filming will begin later this year in Sydney. My character is Rihanna, an Australian Muslim girl. I will share more details as the story unfolds. I am currently focusing on filming in Los Angeles.”
The film also provides an insight into the language barriers between generations and the love between a visiting grandmother and her great Australian-Indian grandson. The film follows Kabir’s transformational journey as he learns Hindi through the fusion of Western and Indian music.
Directed by Ali Syed, co-written by Ali Syed and Jay Sharma, the film will be shot in Australia.
Produced by Australian company 24Six Films and Indian company Shah Entertainment Media (SEM), the film will be supported by Screen Australia, and will be released in May 2024.
