Kabaddi player makes an Instagram reel and ends life in UP Kanpur

KANPUR, July 4 (IANS) A state level player in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, committed suicide after making a reel on Instagram, police said. He was immediately examined by a private physician, who was pronounced dead.
The incident was reported to the police officials and Vikrant’s body was taken away for an autopsy.
Elder brother Vikas said that Vikrant was selected in kabaddi competition for Kanpur Mandal in 2021 and also participated in state level kabaddi competition.
Apart from this, he used to train the budding Kabaddi players at GK Stadium in Armapur, his brother said.
His brother added, “Vikrant also opened an ice-cream shop in Kalyanpur. He went to the Ganges with friends. After returning from there, he had dinner and slept. When I woke up, I found Vikrant’s room door open. When I entered his room, his dead body was found hanging on a gallows.” Made from a sheet and tied to the hook of a ceiling fan. Before taking the extreme step, he had posted a short clip on Instagram.”
The official at Banke Police Station, Ratnesh Kumar Singh, said the cause of the suicide was not yet confirmed.
“In the autopsy report, death by hanging was confirmed,” he added on Tuesday.
